In Order to Un-Disconcert

In accordance with the will of my dear sister-in-law I am posting a new blog. In thinking about what to post, I thought about music theory and how it relates to life(dry), a poem(slightly depressing), and a silly chain blog-thing.

So here is the blog thing...

Respond by posting your name and:

1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
9. I'll tell you my least favorite thing about you.
10. Post it on your profile so you can play with your friends.

Here is part of a poem-thing that I wrote when I was getting in the head of a character I am writing about:

Squelching and complaining at her interference, the grasses snip and nibble along her arms and neck as the panic blossoms.
Heart pounds, ears ringing, palms sweating and her dilated eyes scan for signs of his passge but the lone girl glimpses only the swirling flight of the bats and swallows.
Her fingers grasp the reeds, knuckles whitening.
The blood dripping is invisible to her.
Her other hand tangles in her curls as she lifts her face to the moon and cries.
Her tears wash away the hope and anticipation of this secret rendezvous, they wash away the hope of a heart torn and stapled back together.
Sanity drips off the plains of her cheeks and runs in rivulets down her pumping chest which bellows air in the shape of a cry of ultimate suffering.
Her poor tattered soul is weary-her hand unfurls from her hair as those red-rimmed and tortured eyes reach the horizon.
Her pupils contract and she is able to take a breath, her knuckles unlock and fingers unclench and she wipes the remnants of her unrealistic expectations away with a blood soaked hand leaving war-paint streaks across her suddenly calm face...

Ooh! Do me do me! Er... the music thingie! :) That's a neat-oh idea! And your passage has a rather gothic-ish feel to it that makes me want to read more.

And thanks for blogging. Consider me no longer disconcerted. :)

I would like the blog thing, please. I can't remember my name. I just saw it somewhere!

I also have a general question regarding your links to other blogs in the sidebar. If I start more blogs and you add them to the list, will I displace some of the others? I'm just trying to see how much work it will take to own a majority stake in the list of links, ya know?

Thanks!!

Kenny -- your next website should be entitled: "Yes, I'm an Attention Whore Who is Whoring for More Attention on People's Sidebars! Particularly My Sister's, Who is Kind Enough to Link to All of My Blogs!"

Yes, it's long. Perhaps you can shorten it by just calling it "Yes, I'm an Attention Whore."

:-D

First of all, I'd like to thank my kind sister for hosting this discussion. It is always a pleasure to visit!

Second, I'm confused by my wife suggesting such a name for a blog of mine.

That is all. :^)

I am working on the music/life theory blog but it will have to wait for now...FINALs! are right after thanksgiving.

I was trying to evoke a slightly gothic feel, but mostly just get in her head and body so understand her. I was a bit afraid of her running away with herself.

Oh, I forgot. Links will not be replaced, just added in alphabetical order...

I should link more things so Ken doesn't take up quite so much space.

Do you want the answer to your question(s) in long or short form, or should we make this fun and I'll post it on my blog and/or I'll do something similar?

Kimbolily said...

I will take my answers however I can get them, but it could be fun for you to do something similar on one of your multitude of blogs

I'll answer here. Why am I so awesome? Because I'm a giant mirror off of which people reflect their awesome, and it just so happens that some of mine gets mixed in there.

Okay, I'm lying. I'm awesome because I think cheddar cheese rules. :-D

And yes, my first memory of you and your sister dressed as clowns will never fade. Or that time when you were trying to impersonate a unicorn, but it made the sound of a pig, and we laughed so hard that we scared everyone at Marie Callender's. LOL

I posted my answers to your questions here:
