In Memory of Rosa Salvador

I meant to write this last night, but I was so drained after crying my eyes out I just couldn't. Rosa Salvador was a wonderful woman who went to my church who recently passed away. She had immigrated from the Philippines to the United States a long long time ago. I don't recall when. She learned English until it was almost perfect although even the last time I spoke to her she greeted me in Tagalog and spoke with a bit of an accent. When I was very young she would tell me stories about when she lived in the Philippines in Tagalog, the language she spoke growing up, and I actually understood her. But, I am sad to say I barely recall the stories and have no recollection of the language. I was very very young. She was quite old and near the end of her life she would cry every time she saw me and tell me how beautiful I am and that I was grown so big.

I just want to say that I loved this woman and know she is in a better place now and I hope that she knew how much I cared for her.

Sorry if this is a downer, but the world, even the tiniest corner that is this blog needed to hear about Rosa.
